Saco River Cruise on September 18, 2021

On September 18 we held our final Historical Cruise of the year on the Mariane B II, captained by Mike Massey and crewed by his wonderful hero nurse niece!

The cruise began with fog and ended with beautiful sunshine and clear skies.

The cruises have had their start at the boat launch site on the Pool Road and continued upriver to the city skyline and then back down the river passing ancient and sometimes hidden ruins and castings from years gone by.

Passengers have been rewarded with exceptional views of the mouth of the river and islands beyond.

It has been a privilege to serve as the narrator and I am hoping that next year we will continue this examination of our local history and geography from the splendid perspective of the Saco River.

The stories and explanations of our unique history and environment are boundless. Peace to all who have come aboard.

I wish for a safe and exciting fall and winter for us all.
