Biddeford Historical Society President Dana Peck reading the Declaration of Independence aloud at the Meetinghouse

Declaration of Independence read aloud at the Meetinghouse for the second time in history

In case no one mentioned: the Declaration of Independence was read on the steps of the First Parish Meetinghouse on July 21, 1776.  The Biddeford Historical Society recreated the event on July 24, 2021 with board members and friends reading sections of the document.  Members of the audience read out the names of signers from each of the 13 states.  An ice cream social followed the event.
